In April of 2008, TVC entered into a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Department of Energy to support Idaho National Laboratory by augmenting the laboratory’s technology commercialization activities.  TVC's office in Idaho Falls will assist laboratory and other entrepreneurs in starting and growing their technology-based enterprises and finding equity funding.

    Shawn Perkins is a seasoned lawyer, entrepreneur and economic developer having served in the public, private and non-profit sectors. His diverse career path has included experience as an attorney for the Nez Perce Tribe and also Latah County, Idaho. He has been the owner of two municipal solid waste companies and continues to be involved with new startup businesses as an advisor and investor. His work as executive coordinator for the Regional Workforce Innovation Team and Partners for Prosperity, involved strategic planning to improve regional workforce training, stimulating business growth and increasing global competitiveness in eastern Idaho. Shawn and his family currently reside in Rexburg, Idaho, but spend as much time as possible, skiing, cycling and backpacking in the mountains surrounding their home.
