Success Stories
We consistently review and update our primary metrics (cumulative since ’93):
- New business formations: 105
- Funding events: $1.078 billion
- Job creation: 12,699
Since clients do not pay fees or compensation to TVC of any kind, these are TVC’s primary success metrics. Return on our invested time with clients is paramount. While we’d like to help as many entrepreneurs as we can, we are selective and look for those with commercialization potential—that means evaluating many of the same criteria that investors use (team, technology, pain, market size, customer traction, etc.). Since we work with early stage companies, we select clients based on their potential, and help entrepreneurs drive toward each milestone. When they line up with what investors have told us they’re seeking, we’ll make the introduction.
Bluenergy Solarwind Receives $10,000
December 17, 2009
Albuquerque, New Mexico – Technology Ventures Corporation (TVC) announced that Bluenergy Solarwind, Inc. was awarded a $10,000 Roadrunner grant to support start-up operational costs. Based in Santa Fe, New Mexico, Bluenergy Solarwind manufactures the Solarwind™ turbine, a single device that simultaneously uses solar and wind energy to generate electricity on location. Unique in the marketplace for its sculptural presence, the turbine is the first-of-its-kind hybrid for commercial, government and residential on-site generation. Founded in 2006, Bluenergy Solarwind’s differentiators are the aesthetic beauty of the turbine,
patent-protected technologies that provide high performance and reduced lifecycle costs and integrated on-site generation using available sun and wind in one device. The turbine resolves the critical issues of solar and small wind installations while combining off-the-shelf technologies for ease of manufacture.
Sherman McCorkle, TVC's president and CEO said, "We have great confidence in the leadership and management of Bluenergy Solarwind and believe the company will fill a unique niche within the renewable energy space by simultaneously addressing both the solar and wind markets." Bluenergy Solarwind’s president, Joel Goldblatt said, “The TVC Roadrunner grant is a primary example of TVC’s ongoing support and belief in us as an innovative renewable energy startup. Bluenergy Solarwind plans on using the Roadrunner grant funds to purchase components and engineering services for our planned full-scale Solarwind™ Turbine models being built this year.”
Bluenergy Solarwind was a presenter at the Technology Ventures Equity Capital Symposium in May 2009.
