AHCC Job Fair for Kirtland AFB

The Albuquerque Hispano Chamber of Commerce (AHCC) is partnering with one of New Mexico’s largest employers, Kirtland AFB, to sponsor a job fair on August 5, 2009 from 1:00 – 5:00 p.m. at the National Hispanic Cultural Center (NHCC).
The Job Fair is supported by nmtechjobs.org.
Kirtland will be adding more civilian positions to its workforce as missions grow in the Air Force Research Laboratory Space Vehicles Directorate, the Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center, and various other units on the base over the next two years. The base anticipates that a minimum of half these positions will be new hires.
Hiring officials and subject matter experts from the base will be present from organizations such as the Air Force Research Lab, Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center, Air Force Safety Center, Space Development and Test Wing, Air Base Wing, and Department of Energy will be accepting resumes and applications for over 100 jobs ranging from entry level positions to more senior supervisory and management positions in the following areas:
Engineers (various specialties)
Scientists (various specialties)
Nuclear weapons specialists
Financial Management
Program/Acquisition Management
Information Management
Maintenance Management
Logistics Management
Information Technology Specialists
Human Resources/Capital Specialists
Safety Specialists
Security Specialists
Intelligence Specialists
Historian
Human resources specialists from the base will also be available to assist applicants in completing on-line applications through the USAJOBS.gov website. AHCC and Kirtland will also sponsor seminars beginning at 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. on resume writing,application, and interview techniques.

We know there is a lot of talent in Albuquerque and New Mexico and we want to take advantage of this tremendous opportunity to showcase potential careers at the base.”
