New Mexico Technology Flying 40
February 11, 2010
Albuquerque, NM -- New Mexico’s Flying 40 awards is given to the state’s fastest growing technology-based businesses.
The Flying 40 is a selection of the top 40 revenue-generating technology companies in the state. The selection criteria are based on revenue and revenue growth. Jobs at the Flying 40 increased from 4,314 in 2005 to 6,124 in 2009, a 42 percent increase. Revenue increased from $741 million in 2005 to over $1.18 billion in 2009, a 60 percent increase.
Forbes magazine says, “The greater Albuquerque region is the single ‘best place for business and careers’.” “It’s these technology-based companies that caused Forbes to rank us #1,“ said TVC President Sherman McCorkle. “2009 was a difficult year for everyone in business, and our technology-based economy sector was no exception. Given these challenges, the Flying 40 continues to be an example of the finest New Mexico has to offer.”
The event is sponsored by KPMG, LLP, New Mexico Bank & Trust, the Albuquerque Journal Business Outlook, the Sandia Science & Technology Park Development Corp. (SSTPDC), the Albuquerque Isotopes and Technology Ventures Corporation.
